Our Leadership

Holly Adams, President + Founder

Holly is the heart and soul of MustLuvBoxers Rescue, serving as the president and overseeing every aspect of the organization. From managing operations to ensuring the rescue runs ethically and smoothly, she is committed to the mission of saving and rehoming Boxers. She also oversees the intake process and collaborates with the board to make impactful decisions that guide the rescue’s growth.

Living on the rescue center property with her sister and her beloved dog, Stevie, Holly is deeply invested in the work she does. She’s not only overseeing construction on the property to build a better future for the dogs, but she’s also eagerly anticipating getting back into fostering soon. Every day, she’s working to make a difference—one Boxer at a time.

Chris Zanassi

Chris Zanassi, Vice President

With a strong sense of determination and a drive to see the rescue’s mission thrive, Chris focuses on managing the rescue’s social media presence, Petfinder listings and brings awareness to the rescue’s mission. Though she’s not one to seek the spotlight, her behind-the-scenes work has been key in amplifying the stories of the Boxers she’s passionate about.

When she’s not immersed in rescue work, Chris enjoys spending time with her family, including her Boxer, Vito, an MLBR alum. She’s deeply committed to the cause and works tirelessly to ensure every dog gets the attention they deserve.

Elizabeth Bearden, Treasurer

Beth has been an integral part of MustLuvBoxers Rescue since day one. As a dedicated board member, she oversees the MLBR PayPal account, keeping everything in order and providing a yearly financial report to ensure transparency and accountability. Whether it’s for transports, vet bills, adoptions, or fundraising, Beth is there—donating monthly and supporting fundraising efforts to make sure Boxers get the care and attention they deserve.

With a deep love for the breed, Beth has owned four Boxers (three of them rescues) and is wholeheartedly committed to helping MLBR achieve its mission: finding forever homes for these amazing dogs. Now living in Texas with her current rescue, Blossom, Beth continues to be a key force in the rescue’s success and growth.

DeAnn King, Secretary

With a lifelong passion for animal welfare, DeAnn has dedicated herself to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs in need, with a special focus on the beloved Boxer breed. Her journey in the world of dog rescue began many years ago, fueled by a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable animals. As a former owner of a dog rescue organization, she gained invaluable experience in managing operations, coordinating adoptions, and building a supportive community of volunteers and animal lovers. Whether working hands-on with rescued dogs or collaborating with fellow board members, her commitment remains unwavering: to protect, promote, and celebrate the unique qualities of Boxers and all dogs who need a helping hand. Through compassion, leadership, and a deep-rooted love for rescue work, she strives to inspire others to join the mission of saving lives and spreading hope one dog at a time. When DeAnn is not dedicating her time to rescue work, she finds joy in traveling, exploring new places and experiences. Her greatest pleasures, however, come from spending time with her grandchildren and her cherished dogs. Family gatherings are often filled with laughter, warmth, and the unconditional love of her furry companions, 2 boxers and a great dane.

Jennifer Haynie, Director

Jennifer has been involved in rescue since 2011 and has been with MLBR since 2016. Jennifer has fostered over 20 dogs and adopted five of her own throughout her time with the rescue. She is dedicated to being able to make a difference in the lives of the dogs as well as the families that are looking for their new companions. When she’s not involved in rescue events, she is a mom of three amazing kids who are getting firsthand experience in fostering, rehabilitating and finding forever homes for all the dogs that come through their home. Her goal is to make the world a better place for every dog she can.
