Boxer Adoption Stories 2022

New Beginnings for Boxers at MustLuvBoxers Rescue

Lucas (now Duke)

Lucas (now Duke)

Adopted:

DeV is no stranger to rescuing dogs. She lost her beloved rescue pups a few years ago. When she moved into her new home, she knew another, would be in her future. DeV’s daughter had a boxer who she helped raise from a pup; she just loved the breed and their personalities. She has a soft spot for the seniors, knowing that they frequently get overlooked, so, DeV was certain she wanted to give a senior a new forever home. When she saw Lucas on our social media, she quickly submitted an application.

Lucas got to meet DeV and spend an afternoon with her, and then later they spent a whole week together at her home enjoying a sleepover “test run”. They spent quiet time getting to know each other and meeting other family members. They both thought this was a great match and look forward to many years together.

Once it was official, this senior hunk got a new name and will now be called Duke. He is going to be one very lucky and spoiled only-pup! He will get to “supervise” his mom as she works from home, enjoy a huge backyard to play in, get to be close to many beaches, see his new mom’s grandkids who live nearby, and enjoy a lot of new stuff purchased just for him!

DeV, MustLuvBoxers Rescue thanks you very much for welcoming a senior pup into your heart and home. We couldn’t be happier for Duke! Enjoy your new life Buddy, we are so glad you found your home for the holidays!

Joey

Joey

Adopted:

Nathan and Erin have 4 kids and are currently without a dog in their home. They do, however, have 3 cats, and Nathan’s mom, who lives next door, has two dogs. While Nathan and Erin never owned a boxer, they grew to really love their cousin’s boxer and decided that was the breed for their large and active family. Enter one of the last boxer-mix Friends Puppies – Joey, who immediately stole all of their hearts. Hopefully, the dog-savvy cats felt the same way!

With 4 kids around from the ages of 5 to 15, Joey is in for a lot of family fun! He’s going to have a great life going on daily walks, taking trips to local parks, and doing pretty much anything outdoors since all the kids are involved in scouts. Joey might even get a chance to meet some chickens in the future! Kids, cats, chickens…what more could a young puppy want in life?!?

Erin, Nathan, Preston, Samantha, Damien, and Xander; and of course, all the cats, and the dogs at grandma’s house, MustLuvBoxers Rescue is thrilled you welcomed Joey into your pack. We just know he’s in the perfect home. Please keep us updated on the fun adventures you all have with Joey.

Ross (now Ammo)

Ross (now Ammo)

Adopted:

Michael and Teresa have Patches, a 13-year-old Husky-mix, and the three were looking to add a lot of fun and action to their family by rescuing a puppy. Michael was also looking for a new support dog to help with combat-induced PTSD. His last support pup was a rescued boxer-mix who he bonded with easily, but sadly the pup passed away at 11 months old due to a brain tumor. After seeing our Friends Puppies on PetFinder, also boxer-mixes, Teresa and Michael knew right away that one of these boxer-mixes would be just what they needed. They picked out Ross, who was Patches-approved, and he now goes by the name Ammo, which seems fitting with Michael’s military service background.

Ammo is really enjoying his new family and loves having an older fur-sister! This little boy is going to enjoy hiking, going on daily walks, playtime in the yard, and will even get to benefit from professional training.

Michael and Teresa, and especially Patches, MustLuvBoxers Rescue is thrilled you found your new family member and service dog in Ammo. We thank you Michael for your service to our country and look forward to getting many updates about the fun you all have together.

Gunther (now Charlie)

Gunther (now Charlie)

Adopted:

Lucas and Clay were looking to add a canine member to their household after losing Brutus, a boxer-mix, this past summer. Lucas loves boxer personalities, how loyal they are, and of course the goofiness. They decided a puppy was the way to go and soon found the Friends Puppies, who happen to be boxer-mixes, and picked out Gunther! This young boy now goes by the name Charlie.

Charlie is going to have a great life with his new very active family. He’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors, as that’s where Lucas loves to be! There will be daily walks, playtime at a nearby park, hiking, camping, trips to the coast, and maybe even some paddle boarding! Sounds like Charlie hit the jackpot!!

Lucas and Clay, MustLuvBoxers loves that you found your new furever family member in Charlie. We can’t wait to watch him grow up and hear about all the fun adventures the three of you have together.

Thor

Thor

Adopted:

Bart and Carolyn have a 7-year-old Lab named Blondie. They wanted to add a new fur-member to their family, so after hearing about Thor, they decided to give him a “test drive” through our Foster-to-Adopt program. They love the Boxer breed, having had a couple in the past; and their last one was also a rescue. After a very short time, Bart, Carolyn, and Blondie agreed that Thor would be the perfect addition!

Thor is loving his new forever family and really enjoys having a fur-sibling to play with. Thor is going to enjoy a fairly active life now, with daily walks, obedience training, hiking, camping, and he may even get to try canoeing! Since Thor and his fur-sister Blondie are considered family members, they will both get to do pretty much everything that Bart and Carolyn do. Lucky pups!

Carolyn, Bart, and especially Blondie, MustLuvBoxers Rescue is thrilled you found the newest member of your family with Thor. We just know he’s in loving hands with you. Please keep us updated with pictures and stories about the great fun you all have together.
